We are delighted to announce another new partner site, nestled in the southwestern corner of Northumberland National Park.
Walltown Country Park is a haven for nature and well being. An old quarry site which has been fully restored, it holds plenty of variety including wooded areas, lakes and ponds as well as open areas with wonderful views in all directions. All set against the dramatic backdrop of Walltown Crags on Hadrian’s Wall.
There are two Tramper loop-routes available. The first route heads northward along the western edge of the country park, with outstanding views across the border mires toward Wark forest, before returning to the visitor centre alongside open ponds, meadow and woodland. The Quarry Lake route takes you through woodland and open meadow, around the central quarry lake, before returning via the picnic site in the shadow of Rabbit Haugh Crags.
With plenty to explore, it has the makings of a great day out! Find out more about facilities and what is on offer at Walltown Country Park • Northumberland National Park
