Our Team

Phil Wake
Charity Development Officer
Phil focusses on delivering training, securing new sites, raising awareness of accessibility issues, securing funding and sharing his passion for access for all.

Trella Javanainen
Charity Operations Officer
Trella has a background in the sustainable development sector and enjoys a job where she can do a bit of everything. This is perfect, as "bit of everything" pretty much covers her job including looking after the charity's accounts and contracts, keeping systems running and making sure that our partners have the training and resources they need, and much more...

Penny Swann
Bids and Trusts Officer
Penny is a charity fundraiser who works to secure funding to support Outdoor Mobility's growth, as well as ensuring our policies are kept up to date. Penny loves the Lakes and, as the mother of a disabled adult, is keen to help create new opportunities for people to enjoy the outdoors.

Vikki Holliday
Marketing and Administration Officer
Vikki has a background in administration and her role focusses on providing a quality service to our members. She manages membership and booking queries as well as general admin tasks and supports the day to day running of the service.
Our Trustees
The work of Outdoor Mobility is supported by a Board of Trustees, who are:

Andrea Waite - Chair
Andrea is a retired teacher with 27 years experience in the Primary sector. During this period she was a senior leader, school governor and an advanced skills teacher. She has always had a love of the outdoors and was a regular fell walker, however, since a diagnosis of MS in 2010 pursuing such activities became impossible. Andrea looked for other ways in which she could still enjoy enjoy the countryside with her family. Outdoor Mobility provided the opportunity to do this and she has become aregular user of the Tramper routes in Cumbria and the North of England.

Cathy Beddows - Treasurer
Cathy is a retired primary school headteacher. She grew up in the Lake District and has always had a passion for the outdoors. She is an enthusiastic traveller with an adventurous nature and enjoys trips abroad. After being diagnosed with muscular dystrophy, Cathy began using a scooter to get around outdoors. More recently, she has discovered Trampers and the opportunities they provide. She is eager to help Outdoor Mobility to broaden these opportunities so that more people can enjoy access to the countryside.

Anthony Jennings
Anthony is a mobility scooter user and an expert in accessibility and inclusive design. He is passionate about breaking down barriers and enabling disabled people to travel and enjoy the great outdoors.

Gemma Procter
Gemma has worked within travel and tourism in Cumbria for over 15 years. She comes from a marketing background but specialises in Sustainable Tourism and Travel and has completed her certificate in sustainable tourism with the Global Sustainable Tourism Council.
She loves being out in the Cumbrian landscape and understands the massive health and wellbeing benefits this can bring. She is passionate about making these amazing places more accessible, so that everyone can experience the UK's great outdoors.

Peter Wilmot
Peter’s job sees him supporting organisations to solve complex problems, transforming and modernising how they operate. Outside of work, he loves being outdoors, cycling and hiking. His wife is a wheelchair user, and accessing the Trampers has been ‘genuinely life-changing' for them both - opening up outdoor experiences that would otherwise have been off-limits. Peter is particularly interested in supporting the charity’s growth and is excited to support Outdoor Mobility’s mission - to help shape a future where everyone can experience the freedom and joy of amazing outdoor places.
