Our Trustees
The work of Outdoor Mobility is supported by a Board of Trustees, who are:
Gemma Procter - Chair
Gemma has worked within travel and tourism in Cumbria for over 15 years. She comes from a marketing background but specialises in Sustainable Tourism and Travel and has completed her certificate in sustainable tourism with the Global Sustainable Tourism Council.
She loves being out in the Cumbrian landscape and understands the massive health and wellbeing benefits this can bring. She is passionate about making these amazing places more accessible, so that everyone can experience the UK's great outdoors.
Lorrainne Smyth
CEO of a local charity and expert in rural community development and inclusion.
Julia Walker
Having experienced mobility issues herself and knowing their impact on an individual's ability to enjoy time outdoors with loved ones, Julia set out to find a solution. The solution was to create Outdoor Mobility! Her research and tenacity as our charity's founder and original manager set us on to a path for growth. Julia has since then moved on to new challenges giving her time to support her local community. However, we continue to benefit from her knowledge and experience as a trustee and as a passionate advocate of Outdoor Mobility.
Anthony Jennings
Anthony is a mobility scooter user and an expert in accessibility and inclusive design. He is passionate about breaking down barriers and enabling disabled people to travel and enjoy the great outdoors.

Andrea Waite
Andrea is a retired teacher with 27 years experience in the Primary sector. During this period she was a senior leader, school governor and an advanced skills teacher. She has always had a love of the outdoors and was a regular fell walker, however, since a diagnosis of MS in 2010 pursuing such activities became impossible. Andrea looked for other ways in which she could still enjoy enjoy the countryside with her family. Outdoor Mobility provided the opportunity to do this and she has become a
regular user of the Tramper routes in Cumbria and the North of England.
