Membership Terms and Conditions

On applying to become a Member of Outdoor Mobility you are automatically agreeing to these Terms and Conditions and you are providing us with the appropriate consent to handle your personal information in accordance with data protection laws and our data protection policies. References to the “Charity”, “we” or “us” are references to Outdoor Mobility.

  1. As a member you will be able to book and use Trampers at our partner hire sites in the north of England, using our on-line booking system

  2. As a member you can also use the Tramper scheme in South West England, through Countryside Mobility. You must show Countryside Mobility partners proof of your Outdoor Mobility. Their conditions may be different to ours and you must comply with their conditions in order to benefit from reciprocal arrangements.

  3. Your Membership is personal to you, it cannot be transferred to another person and you are not permitted to allow another person to use your Membership status.

  4. Outdoor Mobility reserves the right to refuse any application for Membership, as well as the right not to fulfil or cancel a Membership.

  5. Though Membership forms can be completed online, Membership will remain conditional until you can physically demonstrate safe use of a Tramper at a hire location.  Once you have done so, your Membership will be marked as complete. If, on arriving at the hire site, you cannot operate the Tramper safely, you will be offered the opportunity to request a refund of your Membership fees.

  6. If you renew your Membership after more than three months has lapsed, you must have Tramper safety training on site again.

  7. No refunds will be offered for completed Membership. The only instance in which a refund can be requested is in the event of a conditional member being unable to use a Tramper safely on an initial visit.

  8. In order to use Countryside Mobility sites in the South West England, you must have first had your Membership completed by using one of the Outdoor Mobility Trampers.

  9. If we are unable to obtain payment authorisation from the issuer of your card or from your bank and a Membership has already been issued to you, we will cancel your Membership.

  10. We reserve the right to increase the price of your Membership subscription on an annual basis.

  11. The credit/debit card information you provide us for a Membership transaction is used solely for the purpose of processing that Membership transaction. If we are unable to process payment from the credit/debit card details you have provided we will contact you immediately to verify your card details.

  12. We strongly advise you against sending us any credit/debit card information via email. It is contrary to the rules of the Payment Card Industry (PCI) for us to accept credit/debit card payments by email and we will decline to accept payment by this means.

  13. If you are not using your own credit/debit card to pay for the Membership subscription, you must ask permission of the credit/debit card holder before entering payment details. When you subscribe to Membership of Outdoor Mobility either online, by post or verbally, you are confirming that you have obtained the express prior permission of the credit/debit card holder.

  14. As a consumer, you have a legal right to cancel the contract formed between us (and receive a refund of the fees paid) within 14 days from the date of confirmation of your application for Membership or from renewal, if you change your mind or decide for any other reason that you do not want to continue the Membership.

  15. If you cancel the contract in accordance with Clause 14 we will refund you the price you paid for the Membership. Please note we are permitted by law to reduce your refund to reflect the period of time (if any) that the Membership was valid up to the date on which we were notified of your decision to cancel the contract. After 14 days have passed you may not cancel your Membership during the first year. In subsequent years, if you pay by Direct Debit you must give us at least 3 months’ notice to let us know that you have decided to cancel your Membership.

  16. In the event that your Membership is cancelled for any reason you will no longer have access to the Tramper booking system.

  17. Membership rights and benefits shall cease on death but no refund shall be made.

  18. Patron of Outdoor Mobility (paying monthly) has a right to end their patronage at any stage by writing to us. We will consider their membership valid for one year from their last monthly payment.

  19. To let us know that you wish to cancel your Membership or not renew your Membership you must notify us by writing to us at Outdoor Mobility, Ground Floor, Derwent House, Wakefield Rd, Cockermouth CA13 0HS, or by sending us an email to info@outdoormobility.org.

  20. When you apply for Membership (and throughout the course of your Membership subscription) it will be necessary for us to obtain certain information from you. We will treat this as personal data for the purposes of data protection law. Our Privacy Notice is available to read on our Policies Page.
