Wray Castle (National Trust)

Times: 10:00 & 13:30

Distance: 1.6 miles / 2.5 km

Gradient: Some steep ramps and cambers mostly on gravel path but some rougher grass sections.

Although Wray Castle is only 180 years old it is a grand and imposing building on the west shores of Windermere. The Tramper gives access to the wonderful and varied grounds of the Castle.

There are beautiful views over Lake Windermere as well as views over to the Langdale Pikes. There are paths along the lakeshore as well as through woodland and pasture land past St Margarets Church.

The route packs all this variety in to its 1.6miles and really showcases the best of what Wray Castle offers.

One Tramper is available daily at 10:00 and 13:30 for 2 hours at a time.

Members must be accompanied on the route by another person during the Tramper hire session.

All Tramper users must stay on the designated Tramper route path.

National Trust admission charges apply (admission free to National Trust members).
