We are delighted to announce a new Tramper and route at Sizergh National Trust, in the South of the Lake District. This beautiful National Trust medieval house and garden estate is easily accessible being just a few minutes from the M6 and close to Kendal.
This will give the opportunity for people with reduced mobility to be able to visit and enjoy the beautiful gardens which surround the medieval castle at Sizergh NT. Users can explore the formal gardens, including the kitchen garden and the rock garden, and get stunning views of the Mirror Lake and from the front of the house as well as of the property itself.
Pearl Copeland, the Welcome Manager at Sizergh, who has been instrumental in setting up the Tramper says, ‘We are really excited to be able to offer the Tramper to our visitors, it's fantastic that more people who might not have been able to previously, can now enjoy the gardens and we are really looking forward to working with Lake District Mobility.’
Philip Wake from Lake District Mobility says ‘Sizergh is so beautiful it is a wonderful addition to the hire sites available to our members, it is also fantastic to be working in partnership with National Trust for the first time and we are really hoping to expand this partnership in the near future.’
The Tramper is available to book from the Lake District Mobility Website for slots of 2 and a half hours. It’s available in the morning at 10:30am and in the afternoon at 1:30pm. Membership of Lake District Mobility is required but costs start from as little as £2.50 and full training will be given if users have never used a Tramper before.
You can become a member and book the Tramper at www.lakedistrictmobility.org/sizergh and see more details about Sizergh NT at www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/lake-district/sizergh (including entry fees).
Hi any idea when you will be starting the trampers up again ?
