The Derwent Reservoir is a beautiful and dramatic location in the North East of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The Tramper which is now available from the Derwent Waterside Park Visitors Centre gives access to over 10km/8miles of the paths around either side of the reservoir. There are two routes, one either side of the reservoir and you can choose to do as much or as little of these as you wish.
Derwent reservoir is home to a huge amount of birdlife and the scenery is breath-taking. Once you have been out for your visit, be it just an hour or for the full day, there is the welcoming café at the visitors centre to greet you back.
