Langdale

Langdale Estate, Outdoor Tramper hire site location.

Sessions: 

1 Tramper available

10.00am and 1.30pm (3 hour duration) 

Distance/Terrain: 

Elterwater Trail - up to 4 miles/6.5km - gravel surfaces with a very small section on the road. Mostly flat with occasional bumpy and narrow sections. 

Arrival:

Collect the Tramper from the Leisure Centre (as you enter the Langdale Estate, follow signs for The Brimstone and then Leisure Facilities), parking information can be found here

Requirements: 

  • Bring one form of ID (non-photo acceptable).

  • Tramper users must remain on the specified routes.

  • Tramper users must be accompanied by another person (capable of seeking assistance). 

  • There is a service charge of £2.50/hour of use payable on site.

  • Please note, dogs aren't allowed on the Langdale Estate (with the exception of assistance dogs).

Route Description:

Elterwater Trail - collect the Tramper from Langdale Leisure Centre for a riverside trip, passing the shores of Elterwater and turning back at Chesters Café near Skelwith Bride, for a return journey back to the Leisure Centre. 

The route is on a mostly level path with only slight hills.

No pet dogs are allowed on the Langdale Estate, only guide (assistant) dogs are permitted. We appreciate that dog owners may want to bring their dog along for the Tramper trip. The Tramper route passes through the Elterwater village, which is minutes from the Langdale Leisure Centre. Visitors can park their vehicle within Elterwater village and collect their dog as they pass through the village.

Accessing Chesters Café:

 

Please be aware that there is no wheelchair transference from Tramper to the café. Toilets are not accessible on Tramper.

Booking Process

 

  1.  You need to be an Outdoor Mobility member to book a Tramper. If you are not yet a member please click here to buy your Membership. 

  2. Once you are a member, select the venue you wish to visit and click 'Book Now' (below).

  3. Select the time and date of your booking and click the 'Next' button.

  4. Complete the booking form and click 'Book Now' to confirm your booking.
