Harewood House is a Georgian House built in the 18th Century with wonderful grounds designed by ‘Cabability’ Brown. The grounds boast an impressive collection of plants from around the world, reflecting a dazzling variety of styles. With the formal Terrace Garden, the productive Walled Garden as well as the woodland and park land there is so much to take in.

There is also the chance to visit the House (Tramper can not be taken indoors), the shop and the café.

Admission Fees to Harewood House Apply.

The Tramper Routes:

Lakeside and Walled Garden: From the courtyard you descend to the lakeside on a steep but good path. From here you follow a good gravel path around the lake shore where you can explore the Walled garden on the grass paths. These paths may be busy so care and slow speed is required. You can return the way you have come and from the courtyard you can also then descend into the South Garden on a grass path to the lake which gives great views over the lake and back to the House.

North Park and Terrace: Following a short section through the carpark you enter the North Park on bark paths. Here you can visit the Sylvascope, All Saints Church (Tramper not to be taken indoors), the Woodland Wonderland and hopefully spot some of the deer. Crossing back over the access road you can visit the Terrace Gardens infront of the house with water features and statues as well as great views out over the parkland. Here the paths are gravel and narrow with the occasional curb. This requires care and a slow speed with curbs approached at a 45 degree angle.
