Winter 10:00am only
Distance: Up to 5km (shorter options)
Gradient: mainly level on gravel, occasional steep ramps, duckboards, bridges and a cattlegrid
The Tramper has been supported and made possible by the Theatre by the Lake and the Keswick Lions.
There is one Tramper available at this hire site and it is picked up from the Lakeside Café Restaurant attached to the Theatre by the Lake.
From here the route take you South along the Eastern shoreline of Derwentwater. There are several options available and you can take the Tramper for the longer route or various shorter options as you wish.
There are beautiful views over the Lake and down the Borrowdale Valley. There is NO ACCESS to Friar's Crag directly on the Tramper as the path is not big enough at the view point itself. You can leave the Tramper 50m from the view point and if your mobility allows walk the final distance. There is a bench at the view point.
However, if you are unable to access this point similar views are available from the Tramper route both near to Friar's Crag as well as from the furthest point on the route.
The Tramper is available at 10am and 2pm for a maximum of 2.5hrs each. In Winter only the 10am slot is available.
Members must be accompanied on the route by another person during the Tramper hire session, due to limited or no mobile signal.
All Tramper users must stay on the designated Tramper route path.
