There's real magic in a bluebell wood - and they always seem more magical for being shortlived. In late April and May, they're one of the last spring flowers to bloom before the trees open up new leaves and block out the light to the woodland floor. We were delighted to get an email about the Hadfield family from Oxfordshire, who returned to their roots in the Lakes to enjoy the bluebells with the help of one of our Trampers.
Lisa sent this picture of her parents, saying, "Today was a special day as we managed to get Dad into Bluebell wood in the Langdales for the 1st time in 5 years. I can't tell you how happy that has made both my parents." "A MASSIVE thank you for making such a HUGE difference." We're lucky to have some of the most beautiful bluebell woods within the Lake District (or perhaps we're biased!). We're so glad that Lisa and her parents got this chance to enjoy the Spring with the help of Lake District Mobility.
